I have purchases but my ROAS looks different in Meta vs Shopify. Which do I use to make decisions?

Fix Your Attribution Data

Use Shopify for revenue decisions, Meta for creative comparison decisions. Meta's ROAS is partially modeled (especially post-iOS14) and includes view-through attribution which overstates performance. Shopify shows you actual orders. When deciding whether to scale or kill: look at Shopify's actual orders and actual revenue divided by your actual Meta spend (your MER — Marketing Efficiency Ratio). When comparing creative A vs creative B: use Meta's relative data — even if absolute numbers are off, the comparison between creatives within the same account is directionally accurate.

Tactical FixEvery week: take total Shopify revenue ÷ total Meta ad spend = your MER. This is your real performance number. If MER is above your break-even ROAS = profitable. If below = losing money, regardless of what Meta reports.
