What is Desire vs. Angle?

Creative

A desire is the underlying outcome your customer wants (e.g., "to sleep without back pain"). An angle is the specific creative framing used to address that desire (e.g., "doctor dismissed me" vs. "failed surgery" vs. "can't play with my kids"). One desire can have 10+ viable angles.

Why it matters: Testing one desire with one angle is not a real product test. You've tested one framing, not one product. Operators who "test 3 products and get no results" are almost always testing 3 ads with the same angle — not 3 different desires.

Treating multiple visual variations of the same script as "testing different angles." Changing the background color or the actor is not a new angle. A new angle = a new psychological entry point into the same desire.
