What is VSL?

Video Sales Letter. A longer-form ad (typically 2–5 minutes) that builds a full case for the product: problem establishment, failed alternatives, the solution, social proof, and offer with urgency. More effective than short-form ads for higher-ticket products ($75+) where the purchase decision requires more information.

Why it matters: At lower price points, a 30-second hook-driven ad usually outperforms a VSL. At $80+, buyers want more context before committing.

Using VSL format for impulse-buy products. A 3-minute video before a $19 purchase creates friction, not conviction.
