What is ATC Rate?

Metrics

Add-to-Cart Rate. Percentage of store visitors who add a product to their cart. Below 3% indicates a product page or offer problem. 5–8% is acceptable. Above 8% suggests strong offer-product fit and a well-converting page.

Why it matters: ATC rate is your clearest signal of product page and offer strength. High ATC with low purchase rate = checkout friction problem. Low ATC = the product page isn't convincing visitors the product is worth buying.

Treating ATC as a success metric rather than a diagnostic. ATCs without purchases are a warning signal, not a win. The goal is purchases — ATC is a step in the funnel, not the destination.
