What is ABO?

Ad Set Budget Optimization. You set the budget at the individual ad set level, giving you precise control over how much each angle receives. Essential for testing phases where you need equal spend across ad sets to collect clean comparative data.

Why it matters: Use ABO for testing (equal data per angle), CBO for scaling (Meta allocates to winners). Using CBO during testing means your top-spending angle starves every other angle of data.

Running ABO when scaling. At scale, manually managing budgets across 10+ adsets is inefficient. Meta's CBO algorithm optimizes budget allocation better than you can at volume. Switch to CBO once you have proven winners.
