CPM, CPC & CTR Calculator — explained

CPM is cost per 1,000 impressions: Spend ÷ Impressions × 1,000. It is what Meta charges to put your ad in front of people, driven by your niche, audience, time of year, and — critically — your creative quality.

CPM, CTR, and CPC move together. A stronger hook lifts CTR (more people click), which Meta rewards with a lower CPM, which lowers your CPC. So a "high CPM problem" is usually a creative problem in disguise — fix the hook before blaming the audience.

Read these alongside your downstream numbers. Cheap clicks that never convert are not a win; expensive clicks that buy are fine. CPM/CPC/CTR diagnose the top of the funnel — CPA and ROAS tell you if it actually made money.

CPM / CPC / CTR Calculator — common questions

How do you calculate CPM?
CPM = Ad Spend ÷ Impressions × 1,000. If you spend $100 for 12,000 impressions, your CPM is (100 ÷ 12,000) × 1,000 = $8.33.
What is a good CPM for dropshipping?
CPMs vary widely by niche, country, and season (Q4 spikes 40–100%). Rather than chase a benchmark, lower your own CPM by improving creative — a higher CTR pulls CPM down.
How are CPM, CPC, and CTR related?
A higher CTR signals relevance, so Meta lowers your CPM, which lowers CPC. Improving the hook in your creative usually improves all three at once.
Is a low CPM always good?
No. Cheap impressions that never convert lose money. Use CPM/CPC/CTR to diagnose the funnel top, but judge profitability by CPA and ROAS.
