How long does it take to make my first sale?

Timeline expectation question — sets or destroys realistic expectations early

Honest answer: anywhere from day 1 of ads to 30+ days depending on your product selection, creative quality, budget, and how fast you iterate. The range is wide because it depends on factors within your control.

  • First week: If your product has strong existing demand, your creative angle hits, and your store is set up correctly — first sale within 2–5 days of ads running is possible. It happens.
  • Week 1–4: More realistic for most beginners. First product may not work. Second or third iteration hits. First sale in this window is a normal outcome for an operator who's testing properly.
  • Month 1–3: If you're testing one product at a time with very low budget and no creative iteration, this range is common. Budget constrains speed of learning — more spend = faster feedback loops = faster finding of a winner.

The operators who make their first sale fast share one trait: they test more creatives and kill decisions faster. Speed of iteration is the real variable, not luck. The more angles you test quickly with adequate spend, the faster you find what resonates.

Tactical FixDon't measure by calendar time — measure by number of real angle tests with adequate spend ($300–500 each). If you've done 4 real angle tests on different products and haven't sold, the problem is diagnosable. If you've done 1 underfunded test, you haven't actually tested anything yet.
